Skirmish: Exciting Airsoft Wars
Airsoft Wars And The Skirmish
A new adventure sport is on the rise in the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom called the Airsoft “Skirmish”. Also called Airsoft wars gaming, two or more teams are pitched against each other in a game of skill, speed, accuracy and tactics.
There are several basic principals to the Airsoft Skirmish, including:
- Teams with Airsoft War Guns, eye/face protection, DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) clothing, and a generous amount of ammunition, try and shoot the opposing members of the other teams in Skirmish Airsoft wars.
- Unlike paintball or laser tag where hits are easily recognized and obvious, Airsoft works on an honor system. When hit by the Airsoft gun, a player must declare the contact by raising his arm and shouting, “hit”.
- The player must then leave the arena or playing field. Every time a BB hits someone, they are considered out of the game. The player can only return if the game re-starts, or after a short regeneration period.
- These team-based Airsoft wars are usually called “Capture the Flag”, “Siege”, or “Mission Objective”.
The more organized and sophisticated games are usually played on privately owned and insured sites around the country. These sites are often fortified with extravagant Airsoft wars zone type fortifications. Only Airsoft gun replicas are used, and strict safety regulations are imposed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of each player.
