Butt Usually referring to the back end of a gun that rests upon the shoulder. On a rifle that has a stock, the butt is the rubber piece on the back end of the stock. On a pistol the butt is the base of the pistol/grip where the magazine is inserted.

Caliber In the sport of Airsoft, the caliber is the measure of the diameter of the plastic pellet or BB. Almost all replica Airsoft guns use 6mm caliber BBs, although some models are available that shoot 8mm caliber BBs
Carbine The name given to a shortened version of a long barreled rifle. The carbine, being shorter than most rifles and weighing less, can be more suitable for a broader range of combat roles.
Chronograph The chronograph is a device used to measure the muzzle velocity of a projectile. In the sport of Airsoft the chronograph is used to check the speed at which the BB travels when shot from the gun. These devices are usually found at all Airsoft skirmish sites in order to test the safety of each gun. If the chronograph determines that a BB is traveling too fast, the gun will be disallowed and considered unsafe for open play.

Cocking Handle The handle that cocks, charges, and reloads a gun. See “Bolt”.
Covert Action that is performed in a secret manner with the intent of not being spotted. Usually military maneuvers that take place behind enemy lines are done in a covert manner in order not to be detected.
