MMG (Medium Machine Gun) Usually refers to a belt-fed, full power rifle caliber (7.62mm rifle caliber) automatic weapon. The MMG differs from the LMG (Light Machine Gun) in that it provides for a more extended firing time. Weighing between 15 and 40 lbs., the MMG is light enough to be used by infantry with a bipod.

NATO is run in a committee fashion allowing each member nation voting privileges.
