No-Po

Nozzle The component of a gun which feeds air from the cylinder to the barrel.

NV / NVG (Night Vision / Night Vision Goggles) Night Vision systems are available in several different forms. Most commonly used in goggles, night vision systems come in monoculars, rifle mounted scopes, as well as helmet-mounted goggles. The night vision system magnifies the available light in darkness many times over so that the night becomes day.

Overt (Action performed openly) Military action where no effort is being made to hide the activity, such as in covert which is secretive. In military terms, overt action often refers to soldiers or police which openly patrol the streets of occupied cities.

Parabellum A type of 9mm ammunition used in some live-firing pistols and SMGs.

PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) A term commonly used to describe more compact weapons that are suited to personal defense in enclosed environments. “PDW” can be found stamped on some Airsoft guns after their name indicating this attribute. The Airsoft MP5-PDW is an example of a compact version of the popular MP5 series.

Piston The part of an Airsoft mechbox which pushes the air from the cylinder into the barrel.

Plinking (to plink) A term derived from the sound of an Airsoft pellet striking a tin can. Plinking usually refers to backyard target practice with a low powered Airsoft gun.

Ported Holes such as a porthole on a boat that are cut at an oblique angle.
